Thanksgiving is a time for togetherness... it's an occasion to be spent in the warm and loving company of family, loved ones and friends enjoying turkey roast and pumpkin pies with them. Thanksgiving is also an opportunity to renew the ties that bind us with the ones we love... it is a time for remembering, cherishing and being thankful for all the good things you have been blessed with. So it's time to say 'Happy Thanksgiving'

The Ultimate Turkey Know-How

Time has come for celebration and merry making. With lot to plan and less time to implement. Have you started with the guest list and the menu yet? If yes then this would be an important time to get all information about the all time favorite- Turkey! Are you planning to surprise your guests with something different and unique? The smell of cranberries and smoked vegetables are already in the air. The most important step of planning is getting the right turkey. You would not like your guests to have a tug of war with the bird, would you?. So for a plump, juicy and fork tender turkey one has to chose the best from the huge variety. Selection is made lot easy with the departmental stores and food marts. A huge amount of time is saved with online shopping now. With the busy days heading, there is huge crisis of time and management of the same has become difficult too. Here are few places from where you can get your Turkey. Last year I too shopped online and believe me these guys really deliver good stuff to you. Also the packing keeps it fresh and juicy.

Next comes the lip smacking recipes. This year I am planning to help out my mom with some new menu on the platter. The guests should have the essence of being served the unique and different. I like experimenting with food and also trying out assorted menu. Starting with the sauce, stuffing, smoked meat, pies and many more. There are brilliant new carte du jour (see I am adding new words to my vocabulary thanks to Amanda)for turkey. America, the melting pot of cultures, is fast becoming the melting point of cuisines, too. The chefs are on their toes to satisfy the growing demand for variety. Fusion cooking in vogue now. So I am really trying some of them this year .There should be complimentary side dishes with the main course. Oh, how can I forget the sweet dish? Always try to make the pie if u plan to, a day before the main event.

My mother is always worried about the leftovers. But this year she has got a big fat cook book which talks about different kind of recipes with the left over food. That means this year not only Thanksgiving but also on Black Friday we will have a great feast!Wow......!! For the people who are planning for grand dinner away from home there are various restaurants which will serve with their best and exotic dish for this special event. But it is always fun to be at home on thanksgiving with your near and dear ones. Still its the time for celebration and one can have their own ways to do it.
